Emergent Situation On Cunningham Highway Has Area Closed
A truck carrying a dangerous chemical has rolled on Cunningham Highway late on 20 July 2016, closing a section of the road into the morning.
The emergent situation has seen a 500m exclusion zone put in place since approximately 9:30pm last night.
The single vehicle accident involving a B-double truck happened just off the highway at Cunningham's Gap.
The police have released the following statement about the situation and avoiding the area.
"Police have declared an emergent situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act after a B-Double carrying liquid Anhydrous Ammonia rolled over at Cunningham's Gap this evening," the report said.

"Preliminary information suggest the driver lost control on the Cunningham Highway, approximately 1km on the Warwick side of the helipad at around 9pm.
"The male driver was not injured.
"The PSPA declaration covers Cunningham Highway between Lake Moogerah Road, Aratula and Fisher Park truck stop, Maryvale. There is a 500m exclusion area around the truck due to the nature of the chemical.
"It is expected The Gap will be closed into the morning allowing emergency crews to decant the liquid into another truck and then recover and remove the B-Double."
