'Evil 8' Paedophile Ring Photographer Released From Jail
A amateur Perth photographer who was a member of the Evil 8 paedophile ring is free after serving his sentence.
Benjamin Simon Clarke was sentenced to three years in prison in 2016 after he became one of seven men jailed over the rape and abuse of a Perth girl who was offered to strangers for sex by her father.
Clarke had pleaded guilty to nine counts of indecently recording a child younger than 13, two counts of indecently dealing with a child and one count of distributing child abuse material.
His sentence was backdated to July 2, 2015.
He negotiated with the girl’s father to photograph her in outfits he had bought from sex shops. He distributed photos he had taken of her to others he had met online.
Clarke also indecently assaulted the girl by masturbating over her as she lay on a bed, reported WAtoday.
He has a previous conviction for the abuse of a 12-year-old in 1988.
The Prisoners Review Board said Clarke:
- Must have no contact with the victim
- He abide by the requirements of the national child sex offender register
- Have no unsupervised contact with children under 16 other than his own children
- Attend counselling
