Father, Sons Critical After Qld House Fire
A father and his two young sons are fighting for their lives after a blaze destroyed their timber house on Queensland's Darling Downs.
The three were badly burnt as they fled the burning house at Weranga around 7.30pm on Tuesday.
It's believed the house did not have smoke alarms and all three were asleep when the fire started.
The father managed to drag his boys - aged three and four - outside but all of them suffered severe burns.
Three choppers landed at the rural property and ferried the family to Brisbane hospitals.
The father, 34, was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition, and his two boys to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.
The fire completely destroyed the timber home. No one else was in the house at the time.
Fire investigators have started to comb the ruins to determine what caused the blaze.
