Horror On SEQ Roads With Teen Dead, Woman Critical

An 18 year old has been killed in a fatal traffic incident, meanwhile a female pedestrian in her 60s is fighting for life in hospital.

The fatal crash was the result of a three car pile up in rural south east Queensland, near Canungra yesterday afternoon.

Police say her hatchback collided with a ute heading in the opposite direction before spinning into another car travelling behind it on the Beaudesert-Nerang Road at Benobble, near Canungra, about 3.50pm on Monday.

The 49-year-old ute driver, his 15-year-old female passenger and a 30-year-old woman who was driving the third car escaped with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, a 60 year old female pedestrian is in a critical condition at the PA Hospital after a car veered off the road when she was walking along a footpath.

The driver lost control of his vehicle on Milne Street in Beenleigh in the early hours of the morning, colliding with the woman.

Emergency services treated the woman at the scene alongside the QAS High Acuity Response Unit.

They then transported her to hospital for further treatment due to significant head injuries.

The male driver was uninjured.
