How One Brisbane Mum's Life Changed With A Lightbulb Moment

It's the most wonderful time of the year...particularly for this small business Louvelle Luxury Wear.

The Brisbane shop, owned by Simone Taylor, offers luxury $40 turbans and has  been named on the Oprah's Favourite Things List of 2017.

"My ultimate goal was to create something that women didn't have to feel embarrassed about while in the shower," Simone told 973FM's Bianca, Terry and Bob.

Coincidentally, that's where the idea came about. Simone and her husband were were having a giggle one day about how unflattering her shower cap was.

"It was the one product that's still so unattractive," she said. "So it was a lightbulb moment!"

So how does one get the attention of Oprah Winfrey?

"We were exhibiting at a trade show in the US and the team came passed and found the product and were obviously really excited, and passed it on to her," Simone said.

Store visits for Louvelle Luxury Wear have increased by 900 per cent and most recently recording an epic 5000 visitors in just one day.

Oprah's people warned Simone to hire extra staff, increase production and improve her website...and if Oprah's people tell you that. You listen.

The company has now landed a distribution deal with Nordstrom department stores in the US.

For a 34-year-old mum-of-two from Brissy, life just got a whole lot more exciting!
