Man Accused Of Torturing Woman In Brisbane

A 20-year-old Brisbane man has been charged with torture, strangulation and deprivation of liberty following an alleged domestic violence incident.

Police were called to a Woolloongabba property about 6pm on Tuesday where they found a woman with injuries to her face, neck and torso.

The man was charged with nine offences and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

"The 20-year-old Woolloongabba man has been charged with three counts each of strangulation and assault occasioning bodily harm, and one count each of deprivation of liberty, torture, and common assault," the police report stated. 

"The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment."
