MAFS’ Ines Basic A No Show In Court On Drink Driving Charges
Ines Basic, who’s life has been filled with scandal since her appearance on this season of Married At First Sight, chose not to show up to her court appearance on Monday.
The legal assistant was due to appear in a Brisbane court, charged with mid-range drink driving on Christmas Day last year, contravening a police direction and an unrelated offence.
Instead, Basic’s lawyer, Ivan Sayad, appeared in court on her behalf.
He attempted to have the 28-year-old’s court date moved to a later dat so that he could have time to review police footage of Basic in the watch house from body warn cameras.
According to the Courier Mail, Magistrate Deborah Vasta told the court that Ines had attempted to enter a plea in writing.
“I’m guessing she wasn’t acting on legal advice when she did that,” she said.
“But just so she knows, these are not charged that we can really deal with by way of (written plea).”

The MAFS star fronted Cleveland Magistates Court in Brisbane on February 6th this year after being charged with a mid-range drink driving offence.
A mid-range offence ranges between 0.08-0.149 and can come with a maximum fine of $2200 and up to 9 months jail.
At the time, a MAFS spokesperson said, “this is a private matter of Ines’s which we understand is currently before the courts and we will not be commenting further.”
