Forecasters Claim 2019 Will Be One Of The Hottest Years Ever

If you thought that the heat of 2018 was bad, then just wait until you see what’s in store for 2019!

According to forecasters, our next Summer could be one of the hottest on record with suggestions that 2019 could be one of the hottest years of all time.

This prediction comes from the Met Office global temperature forecast, which estimates that the new year could see increased heat due to the affects of climate change combined with a period of El Nino.

The Met Office is reporting that in 2019 the average global temperature for 2019 will be 1.10C above pre-industrial levels, putting it amongst the top five hottest years in history.

So far the hottest year on record was 2016, as the global temperatures reached 1.15C above the 1850-1900 period.

“Our forecasters suggest that by the end of 2019, 19 of the 20 warmest years on record will have occurred since the year 2000,” said Professor Adam Scaife, head of long-range prediction at the Met Office.

“The forecast for 2019 would place next year amongst the five warmest years on record, which would all have occurred since 2015,” added another researched from Met, Dr Doug Smith.

“All of these years have been around 1C warmer than the pre-industrial period.”

So if ever you were thinking about putting in a pool, we reckon now is definitely a good time to do so before the scorching year ahead sets in!
