Multi-Vehicle Pileup Already Causing Traffic Headaches

A six car pileup on the Bruce Highway has caused early headaches for commuters in the South East of Queensland. 

The accident on the Bruce Highway around Burpengary has closed the highway - which is not expected to reopen until at least 7am so that they can fix the damage caused. 

There is approximately 8km of traffic already cued up in the area at 6am.

Meanwhile Morayfield Rd has already begun to build up after traffic has been diverted.

There is no update on if anyone was seriously injured in the crash. 

It was first reported just after 4am with emergency services including ambulances at the scene.

UPDATE 6:21am:

The Gateway Motorway has also seen a four car accident northbound near the Mt Gravatt Capalaba Road at Mackenzie.

There is also a reported crash on the M1 northbound with three lanes blocked near Klumpp Road.
