Murder charge after Qld 'road rage' death
A 36-year-old Queensland man has been charged with murder after an apparent road rage incident in which a second man fell and was crushed by a truck at one of the state's busiest highway junctions.
Police allege the man assaulted the victim, a 50-year-old man from Manruben, on the Pacific Motorway on-ramp at Eight Mile Plains on Tuesday afternoon, causing him to fall into the path of the oncoming truck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The exact circumstances of the incident were not yet clear, police said.
"Police will allege around 3:15pm the man assaulted another man causing him to fall onto the road way and into the path of a truck travelling on the motorway," QPS stated in their media release.
The 36-year-old man from Yarrabilba will appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
