Police Release New Footage In Link To Karen Ristevski Murder

New clues in the Karen Ristevski case could provide the vital breakthrough detectives need to lay murder charges over her death.

Investigators have CCTV footage on the days she went missing of what they believe may be her car driving through Diggers Rest towers where her body was found at Mount Macedon.

In what could be their most important finding to date, detectives are hoping someone saw the distinctive black Mercedes-Benz SLK coupe near Mt Macedon on that day.

Anyone who has any information should call CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.

The Herald Sun is reporting that the police are working on the theory that the car was being driven by Ms Ristevski’s husband Borce and that her body was in the vehicle when the CCTV cameras snapped it.

Detectives have spent the past few months tracking down the owners of every similar car in Victoria and have eliminated them.

They, however, have not been able to eliminate Borce Ristevski as the driver.

While it is known that Ms Ristevski, 47, owned a 2004 model car exactly like the one caught on camera, police cannot be 100 per cent sure it is her car in the footage as it was shot side on, so there is no view of the registration plate.

Victoria Police is today releasing the CCTV footage in the hope it will jog the memories of people who were in the Diggers Rest area after 11 am on June 29 or near Mt Macedon about midday on that day.
