Qld Public Servants Get 'Pandemic Leave' if Major Flu Hit
Queensland's public servants will get a month of "pandemic leave" if a major flu emergency hits the state.
Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace has told government departments to grant 20 extra days of paid leave to public servants who exhaust their sick leave in the grip of a declared flu pandemic emergency.
Queensland's public servants enjoy some of the best pay and conditions anywhere in the western world. Another 20 days leave for pandemic flu is simply over the top #qldpol https://t.co/d0owv5DKzh

The policy, reported in The Courier-Mail, has been criticised by the Queensland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which says government workers already have some of the best leave entitlements in the western world.
