Reports Of Active Shooter At YouTube Headquarters

Police in the US are currently responding to reports that gunshots have been fired inside YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California. It’s been reported that 911 received around 50 separate calls of shots being fired on the campus.

The situation is currently being investigated by local police and Google, the owners of YouTube, but details surrounding the possible shooting are yet to be provided. Most information at this stage is coming from people at the scene posting to social media.

YouTube product manager, Vadim Lavrusik wrote on his Twitter account saying, “Heard shots and saw people running while at my desk. Now barricaded inside a room with coworkers.”

Another product manager, Todd Sherman said that he thought that there had been an earthquake because the floor was shaking as all of the employees were running to the exits.

Photographs taken at the scene show people exiting the headquarters with their hands in the air. Police have said that the situation is a “very active” scene but it has not been confirmed if there are any injuries or casualties.

The YouTube headquarters is located a few miles south of San Francisco and is spread across 200,000 sq ft. It’s reported that 1,700 employees work in the building.
