Schools Could Be Closed As Brisbane Warned To Stay Off Roads
Brisbane schools could be closed with Police warning residents to stay off the roads as ex tropical Cyclone Debbie hits the southeast.
While schools are still open at this stage, Queensland Police say that could change later in the morning.
They are also advising parents to not leave their children at school late this afternoon over fears the severe weather will cause havoc across Brisbane.
We are now being told the rain is not going to let up during the day, with Police recommending people stay at home and off the roads if possible.
A flood watch is in place for the southeast with residents near waterways and catchment areas being told to stay alert and be prepared to move to higher ground.
