Search Still On For Mysterious Brisbane Lotto Winner
One big lotto booty has been claimed in Queensland, but there's still two worth a combined $3 million up for grabs.
A two-week search for a missing division one winner in Rockhampton ended on Monday, with a local couple claiming the $800,000 prize.
The pair, who chose to remain anonymous, had been holidaying and didn't realise they had won first division in the October 1 Gold Lotto draw.
While that winning ticket has finally been claimed, there are still two division one winners in waiting in Queensland.
The biggest unclaimed prize is a Wednesday Gold Lotto first division worth $2 million, with the winning ticket purchased from a Cairns' newsagent in January 2014.
There's also a $1 million stash awaiting someone who bought a Saturday Gold Lotto ticket from a Morayfield newsagent for a draw in June last year.
In Queensland, winners have up to seven years to claim their lottery prizes before the money ends up with the government or returned to players in special draws or dividends.
Golden Casket's Belinda McDougall said if anyone believed they had purchased a winning ticket but misplaced it, they can make a claim - although the investigative process to confirm the win can take time.
