SES Efforts Increase To Scour bush for missing Brisbane teen

Emergency services are scouring bushland in Brisbane's northwest as they search for a missing teenager.

The 16-year-old, named Eric, was last seen on Monday afternoon in Highvale wearing a white T-shirt, khaki cargo pants and carrying a camouflage backpack.

Police on trail bikes and horseback, and SES workers, are searching bushland in Highvale, Samford, Mount Glorious and Mount Nebo.

Eric hasn't made contact with friends or family since he was last seen.

The teen's family say his disappearance is out of character.

Police are due to update the media at 1pm.
