Stolen Car Skids Down Wrong Side Of Road Before Crashing
Terrifying footage has captured the moment that a stolen car skidded down the wrong side of a road in Melbourne for almost 80 metres, narrowly missing other cars on the road.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon on Station Street in Box Hill after the stolen Holden car careered toward innocent drivers.
One driver, Darren Ludowyke, said that he was forced to swerve his car out of the way to avoid being hit.
"They were driving very fast, it happened very quickly," Mr Ludowyke said.
The car is believed to have come to a stop after skidding up to 80 metres before slamming into a nearby house.
Miraculously no one was injured in the incident and the house was only received minor damage.
"It's a big relief...it hit [the post] with a lot of force, so could've done a lot of damage to the house," Jeremy Blackford, the owner of the home said.
It is believed that the driver of the stolen car was wearing a white hoodie and was seen fleeing the scene with the passenger of the car.
"They ran through an empty block and jumped a fence. We couldn't get them," one witness Jo Pooley said.
Police allege that the car was stolen over the weekend from nearby Bedford Street.
The two suspects are still on the run and police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
