Campus Police Officer Shot And Killed At Texas University
A campus police officer has been shot and killed at the Texas Tech University in the United States.
The university has now been placed in lockdown A spokesman for the University, Chris Cook, has made a statement.
"Campus police made a student welfare Monday evening and, upon entering the room, found evidence of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
"Officers then brought the suspect to the police station for standard debriefing.
"While at the station, Cook said the suspect pulled out a gun and shot an officer in the head, killing him. The suspect then fled on foot and remains at large.
"The suspect's identity has not been released."
University Officials sent out a lockdown alert to students via social media notifying them that the suspect was still at large.

The alert urged those on campus "to take shelter in a safe location.
A tweet from Texas Tech has now been issued saying that the suspect has been apprehended and the lockdown has been lifted.
