The Brisbane Bus Strike Has Taken An Unexpected Turn
A major bus driver strike is set to cause havoc across Brisbane this afternoon, as Union members go ahead with planned industrial action.
While commuters will be affected, all sorts of businesses will also suffer from the strike.
Justice Martin Burns yesterday told the jurors in the Watterson attempted murder trial they could finish sitting as early as 12.30pm today to catch buses home.
According to the Courier Mail, jurors in the trial expressed concern that they would be unable to get home if they sat until 4.30pm.
It is not confirmed whether other juries will be discharged early across the city.
An expected 600 to 800 drivers will walk off the job across seven different depots from 2pm-6pm.
Commuters will experience delays as they try to get home today, however, school buses will be prioritised, as child safety is of utmost importance.
