The Company Launching in Australia That Will "destroy" JB
It’s being reported that online giant, Amazon is planning to open distribution and performance centres in Australia as well as physical stores in regional areas.
According to Financial Review, the $500 billion international e-store plans on opening doors in September 2017. As well as general merchandise Amazon Australia will also stock fresh produce.
The man in charge of the roll out of Amazon’s business here in Australia has weighed in on his thoughts of the plans; “We are going to destroy the retail environment in Australia”,’ chief investment officer at Watermark Funds Management, Justin Braitling, said.
The expansion is already set to shake up JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman with expectation it could generate sales of up to $4 billion with electrical items in the limelight.
Amazon will operate in Australia under its Prime, Prime Now and Prime Fresh brands.
Amazon already operates in the USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Germany France, Italy, Spain, Japan, China and India.
