The Future Of Lime Scooters In Brisbane Has Been Decided

The Lime Scooters trial has been extended until July In Brisbane, despite mixed reviews.

The popular new form of temporary transport has taken over the city, with the motorised scooters proving both convenience as well as a novelty.

Of course the trial hasn't come without some concern after multiple incidents of drink-riding, traffic evasions and hospital visits.

"The electric scooter love affair is set to continue, with Brisbane City Council extending Lime’s trial permit until July," the official press release states.

"Brisbane has proven its zest for the urban mobility innovation, clocking more than half a million scooter rides following its initial launch in November last year.

"Lime’s commitments to improving city living and urban transportation infrastructure has transformed travel across the globe, expanding to more than 100 markets and recording 26 million rides since its inception in 2017."

The government are also looking at getting a second company to launch e-scooters in Brisbane to create competitive tension. So it seems the new form of transport isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

What do you think? Does the fun and convenience outweigh the chance of accidents and public safety?
