Chris Dawson's Family Believe Ivan Milat Killed Lyn Dawson
Chris Dawson's family has come forward with another chilling suggestion on the individual responsible for Lynette Dawson's disappearance.
Despite previously claiming that Lyn Dawson had simply ran away in 1982, the Dawson family is now suggesting that she was murdered by serial killer, Ivan Milat.
"Milat... is alleged to have killed several women around the same time and in an area Lyn was seen," Chris Dawson's brother Peter Dawson reportedly told 7 News. He added that Milat's victims were typically hitchhikers, noting that "Lyn didn't drive".
Ivan Milat was convicted of murdering seven women aged between 19 and 22 in New South Wales between 1989 and 1993. He was imprisoned in 1996, and is currently serving seven life sentences at the maximum security Goulburn Correctional Centre.
However, Clive Small, former assistant police commissioner who led the Milat investigation, says the connections between the serial killer and Lynette Dawson "doesn't fit". He states that Milat 'kept souvenirs' from his victims and there were none from the mother-of-two.
He also reported that Milat's victims were primarily picked up from the Liverpool area, and there IS no suggestion that Dawson was THERE at the time.
The cold case involving the mysterious disappearance of Lynette Dawson has gripped the nation and grew in momentum following the release of the critically-acclaimed podcast, The Teacher's Pet.
