THIS Chain Is Set To Move To JoJos' Iconic Queen St Location

Jo Jos above Queen St Mall was an iconic landmark for all Brisbane locals and despite the doors closing for good over a fortnight ago, we're still in mourning.

Then they go and announce this!

McDonalds has submitted an application to alter the balcony and entryway, gaining a State Heritage Exemption Certificate to make the changes.

That's right, the floor to ceiling marble, kitchy cafeteria style setup is set to be replaced by a McDonalds - the sixth Maccas franchise in the city.

Brisbane City Council city planning chairman Julian Simmonds was all for the opening of a McDonalds at the location - directly across the mall from their main competitors Hungry Jacks.

“A new McDonald’s in the Mall would offer hungry shoppers another option for grabbing a bite to eat while they browse our city’s world-class selection of stores, or to relax and enjoy the view from the balcony at this prime city centre site," Simmonds told The Courier Mail.

“With such a well-known McTenant, this site would be assured to remain a mainstay of the Queen Street Mall for many years to come.”
