Tiahleigh's Foster Brother Bashed In Jail As Crowd Cheers On

The foster brother of Tiahleigh Palmer, Trent Thorburn, has reportedly been bashed twice in jail where he has been since being charged with incest last week.

Thorburn, 19, was set upon at the south Brisbane Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre by prisoners in two separate incidents over the weekend, but he received only minor injuries, the Courier-Mail reports.

The paper claims inmates called him "pretty boy" and shouted "kill him" as they cheered his attackers on.

It's believed they are now encouraging each other to bash him on sight.

Thorburn's injuries aren't believed to be serious, however he has been described as having "no chance of defending himself".

Last week it was revealed in court that Thorburn thought he had impregnated the murdered schoolgirl.

During the 19-year-old’s bail application it was alleged he'd confessed in a Facebook Messenger conversation with a cousin that he'd had sex with Tiahleigh and feared she might be pregnant.

Police also alleged he'd repeatedly lied during their murder investigation and was determined to do all he could to avoid a prison sentence for his alleged crimes.

Thorburn has been charged with incest, attempting to pervert the course of justice and perjury.

Thorburn's father Rick has been charged with the murder of 12-year-old Tiahleigh last October, while his mother and brother face perjury charges.
