Perth Tradie Wins Millions, Looks Forward To A Sleep-In
"Mate, the thought of hanging up my work belt tomorrow at 4pm and sleeping in on Saturday instead of getting up at 4.30am… it'll feel like all my Christmasses have come at once."
This is what a Perth tradie said after winning more than $2 million in Saturday's Lotto draw.
The Joondalup man, in his late 30's, had just finished a 12-hour day when he checked his ticket, which was bought online, and realised he had won Division 1.
"The first thing that popped into my head when I'd realised we'd won was 'I won't have to work weekends anymore'," he told WAtoday.
"I've been working 6 days a week – sometimes even 7 days – for as long as I can remember."
It's the 54th time a West Aussie has taken out the Division 1 prize this year.
