Two children were on Dreamworld's Thunder River Rapids ride when a raft flipped, killing four adults, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says.

Brother and sister Luke Dorsett, 35, and Kate Goodchild, 32, and Mr Dorsett's partner Roozi Araghi, all from Canberra, and another woman died in the catastrophic accident.

Ms Palaszczuk could not confirm the ages of the children on the ride, but said both were now in the Gold Coast University Hospital.

"Our focus at the moment is on the two young children that were on that ride," she told Nine.

"We need to make sure that they are getting the care and the counselling that they need."
