Two Dead In One Weekend On North Stradbroke Island

A man has died at North Stradbroke Island after paramedics were unable to revive him on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the Dunwich Jetty about 2.50pm where the man was believed to have drowned.

The circumstances surrounding how he came to be there were unclear.

This is the second death in as many days on the island.

At 2am on Saturday, a teenager was thrown from the back of a ute travelling along Main beach.

The 19-year-old died at the scene, while four other passengers escaped without injury.

The ute is not believed to have hit anything before the teen fell out.
