Vegas Shooter’s Girlfriend Reveals Her 'Conscience Is Clear'
Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of the man responsible for the Las Vegas Massacre, has arrived in the US to face questioning by the FBI as they seek to determine the motive behind the ordeal.
Ms Danely was in the Philippines when Stephen Paddock carried out the worst mass shooting in recent US history, killing at least 59 people and injuring over 500 others.
She arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday night and footage shows Ms Danley being pushed through the airport in a wheelchair.
Police are describing the 62-year-old Gold Coast woman as a "person of interest" rather than a suspect and hope that she will be able to shed some light on the investigation.
The brother of Ms Danely, Reynaldo Bustos, claims that he spoke to his sister after the shooting.
"I called her up immediately and she said, 'Relax, we shouldn't worry about it. I'll fix it. Do not panic. I have a clean conscience," Bustos told ABC News in the Philippines.
Police believe that Stephen Paddock meticulously planned the attack, having sent Ms Danley to the Philippines on September 15, around two weeks before he would carry out the massacre.
One of Ms Danley's sisters has told 7News that she believes Paddock deliberately sent her sister away.
"I know that she don't know anything as well like us. She was sent away. She was away so that she will be not there to interfere with what he's planning," she said.
However other reports have said that Ms Danley left the US on September 25. Nick Suarez, a spokesman for the Philippines' National Bureau of Investigation has said they are looking into when exactly when Ms Danely arrived in the Philippines as well as reports that Paddock had transferred her $100,000.
A motive for the deadly mass shooting is yet to be discovered.
