Woman Charged For Murder Of Brisbane Man
A Brisbane woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with the stabbing murder of her husband in their Brisbane home.
Katie Ann Corben, 36, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with the murder of Jarred Paul Cassel, 35, during an argument at their Chapel Hill home about 9pm on Wednesday.
Corben remained standing with her arms crossed for her short time in the dock on Thursday.
She was remanded in custody to face court again on January 29.
Several members of her family were present in court but did not speak to media.
Police allege Corben stabbed Mr Castel during an altercation at their home about 9pm on Wednesday.
A four-year-old boy, understood to be the couple's son, was in the home at the time of the stabbing but did not witness the incident and is being cared for by family.

Mr Castel was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he died.
Neighbour Ellen Shanahan said the incident seemed to come out of nowhere.
"Couldn't have woken to more of a shock ... nobody in the neighbourhood can make sense of what's happened overnight," she told the ABC.
"I don't hang out with him so I could not make a 100 per cent character assumption but my interactions with him have been very pleasant."
