Woman Mysteriously Disappears While Walking Her Dogs

A woman and her three dogs remain missing after she and her husband stopped for a break from driving through WA's South West.

Heather Rae Ellis, 68, and her husband Maurice, 80, had been driving along Milyeannup Coast Road in Western Australia at around 11.30am when they stopped for a rest.

WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher told WAtoday the couple parked their Nissan X-Trail near Scott River and let their three golden retrievers out of the vehicle.

"Heather decided to take her dogs for a walk in the forest area whilst Maurice remained at the site taking pictures," she said.

Mrs Ellis, however, failed to return.

Police, SES search teams, local rangers and Police Airwing had not found Mrs Ellis by 10pm.

The search resumed at first light on Monday.

She is described as light-skinned, 170cm tall with a medium build and white hair.

Police have asked anyone who may have seen Mrs Ellis or has any information relating to her disappearance to contact WA Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
