Your Thursday May Be Fare-Free Thanks to A Bus Strike

Brisbane bus drivers won’t be collecting fares today, in their on going industrial action over better pay and conditions.

The Rail, Tram and Bus Union are going ahead with planned strikes today and tomorrow, to fight for a wage increase, roster changes and safer buses.

Between 2pm and 6pm Friday, union-member bus drivers plan to walk off the job, but for today – they could refuse to take your fare.

School buses will not be affected tomorrow, as the Union do not want to endanger any school children.

The Premier is urging agreement to be reached as soon as possible.
