BTB And Jeff Horn Are 'In Your Corner
World boxing champ, Jeff Horn walked into Chisholm Catholic College yesterday to spine-tingling cheers.
The 30-year-old, who previously told Bianca, Terry and Bob about his experience with bullying, was there to spread ONE message:
“Be strong, push through the hard times and use someone in your corner.’’
Joining forces with 973FM's brekkie show, Jeff spoke to the junior students about his experiences and what it the key to beating bullies was.
"Talk to people in your corner — your family, friends, teachers. Make sure someone knows if it is affecting you," he said.
"The best thing for you to do is to talk to someone."
The positive that came from Jeff's experience was that it lead him into the ring.
"It (being bullied) made me figure out something I was good at and if it was not them I may not have gone into boxing."
"I believed in myself and boxing. All the people who picked on me or pushed me around, I am sure they would not do that today.
"I know there is one person at least (in the audience) that is going through what I went through. But comments, they can feel so big now but believe me they will be insignificant in a few years time."
