Dita Von Teese Re-Defines The Term "Modern Day Feminist"
Dita Von Teese is known for her incredibly sexy and modern take on the world of burlesque.
In Brisbane for her show The Art Of The Teese, Dita spoke to Bianca, Terry and Bob from 973FM.
"So you call yourself a modern day feminist," Bianca said, "but you've been wearing a corset for so many years that you've physically reduced your waistline to 56cm. How does a modern day feminist reduce their waistline by 56cm to appeal to men? How do you explain that to young girls?"
"There's a simple answer to that. First of all, no one ever said it appealed to men," Dita said. "In fact all of the men in my life have fought me on corsets my entire adult life. The definition of being a modern day feminist, is being able to choose whatever you want for yourself, and for me that's what wearing corsets or lingerie and putting on Burlesque shows is all about."
