Claire Tallent Has A Message For New Mums And Women Alike
Our hearts broke for Claire Tallent when she was disqualified in the dying minutes of the Women's 20km race walk in the Commonwealth Games.
Just minutes before she was out in front of the pack, the Gold seemed within reach.
But with less than 2km remaining she was dealt the ultimate blow. Disqualified.
Newsreader Vanessa, who was a volunteer at the event, was discussing with us the emotion at the finish line as another Aussie took the gold medal from Tallent.
But turns out Claire herself was listening to Bianca, Terry and Bob and decided to call in.
After a night of no sleep from the adrenalin, Tallent shared with us her disappointment of being disqualified.
Despite the new mum's defeat, she had a strong message for mothers and women alike.
We think anyone who can compete in an internationally ranked Commonwealth Games event - let alone a mum with a ten month old - is amazing...
