We Surprised A School With Their Conversation Corner Bench
Over the past few weeks we put the call out for schools in need of a 'Conversation Corner Bench' courtesy of Bianca, Terry and Bob and R U Okay Day...
And we were ecstatic when we heard from Logan City Special School.
Bianca, Terry and Bob surprised the students at assembly to present the bench - and just watching the kids' faces light up made it all worth it.
As an RUOkay Day Ambassador, Bianca was especially moved by the student's reaction, knowing how the bench can benefit their little community.
Teacher Tersia contacted 97.3FM about why the school needed a Conversation Corner Bench.
"Being passionate about the many Mental Health issues of the pupils in this school, the R U OK Bench will benefit a whole community," she said.
So whether the students (and teachers) need a few minutes to themselves, or need a place to talk, or just check in with their fellow peers and make sure they are okay, there is now a safe place to do so.
We hope there are plenty of kind and productive chats on that bench under the tree in their forecourt.
