The MAJOR Hollywood Roles Charlie Sheen Regrets Turning Down

We’ve heard about it happening a lot in the world of Hollywood. That movie regret that major actors and actresses get after turning down roles that turned out to become absolutely iconic!

Could you imagine Molly Ringwald in place of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, Christina Applegate as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde or John Travolta as Forest Gump instead of Tom Hanks?

Well all of these scenarios were very close to becoming a reality and the movies we’ve come to know and love could look very different had these film folk not turned down the roles.

And as it turns out, it’s a very similar situation with Two and a Half Men actor Charlie Sheen.

While he may have been “WINNING!” when he scored the role of Charlie Harper in the long-running TV Show (before being replaced by Ashton Kutcher that is), he could’ve very well also had two iconic movie roles under his belt had he not rejected them.

Speaking with Kyle and Jackie O this morning ahead of his Aussie talking tour, An Evening With Charlie Sheen, Charlie told the guys that he turned down two roles that ended up launching another actor’s career above and beyond in the world of Hollywood.

“What were your two movies, you said there were two movies you turned down?” asked Jackie.

“One was really well received and did a good amount of business and it was called ‘White Men Can’t Jump’,” revealed Charlie.

Jackie replied saying that she loved that film before asking which character he was supposed to play.

“Were you going to be the Woody Harrelson?” she asked.

“Yes I was, yeah,” answered Charlie with just a hint of regret in his voice. “And then Woody did another film called ‘Indecent Proposal’…and I turned that down too.”

“Oh you idiot!” laughed Jackie, telling Sheen that ‘Indecent Proposal’ had actually been one of her absolute favourite films.

Charlie now agrees that it had been a bad move to turn down the roles. In fact, he told us that lots of his friends still joke with him saying that Woody should send him a thank you card.

“My friends tell me that Woody should send me roses for creating his career,” laughed Charlie.

Charlie might have regrets about his decision but we bet Woody is over the moon that it turned out this way! So why did Charlie decide to turn down the iconic roles in the first place? Find out in the video above.
