Day For Daniel 2011

Today was the seventh Day For Daniel Walk at Woombye and Palmwoods - on the Sunshine Coast. 

It was the first Day for Daniel that we knew that Daniel wasn't coming home, which added so much more importance to the message of the day - protecting our kids and letting them know that there body is theirs. 

It was a great day with The Premier, Anna Bligh. Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson, Child Safety Minister Neil Roberts, and Bruce and Denise Morocombe. 

Daniel's father Bruce Morcombe told Robin, Terry & Bob that Day for Daniel is meant to be a fun day with a serious message about child safety.

"It's about awareness - it's about incorporating a safety lesson throughout the day to ensure that our kids are safe," Bruce said.

More than a million school children across Australia will take part in child safety activities during Day for Daniel today.
