Apple is set to announce today that iTunes will close down.
The service, which was first launched in the early 2000s, will be swallowed into the ‘music’ app that has been housing it for the past few years.
However, social media erupted over the weekend with people asking where their purchased goods will go.
For now, there is no clear answer but it is likely music, movies and TV shows will switch where they are stored into standalone apps.
For example, of you had purchased an album in 2001 and a movie in 2010, which currently show together in iTunes, they will now be split, so the movie is in the Movies app, while the album is in the Music app.
More will be known tomorrow but one thing is for sure, your purchases are safe.
