If you’ve seen (or read) Penguin Bloom starring Naomi Watts, then you would be familiar with the story of Sam Bloom.

For those unfamiliar with Sam’s story, it all started on a 2013 family holiday in Thailand. Sam leant against a rotten balcony railing, falling through it and crashing six metres onto the concrete below. She was lucky to be alive and suffered devastating injuries, including severe damage to her spinal cord that left her completely paralysed from the chest down.

Eight years on, the inspirational woman now has two books and a surfing championship under her belt as well as a feature film starring Naomi Watts.

Sam joined Robin, Terry & Bob to chat about how she managed to beat the odds and move on.
