During an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, the 72-year-old performer revealed the secret behind her incredibly toned derrière.

When Ellen asked which “butt exercises” she does to stay in shape, Cher was more than happy to share her expertise in the area.  

“Well, I have a number of them,” she laughed. Her favourite exercise though? The “Fire hydrant,” which works your core and butt simultaneously. 

“So you get down on all fours and you put your leg up and you make an L with your leg and you do it up like that,” Cher said. “Three sets of 25.” 


If you’re thinking of taking the easy way out and thinking that this is the only workout Cher does, then you’re going to be majorly disappointed. She reassured Ellen that the fire hydrant move isn’t the only way she keeps fit. 

“I have to confess, I do Zumba.”

But, before you ask what gym she goes to, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to hear that the international songstress does this all at home. Yep, she’s just like us! All she does is pop in a tape (yes a VHS tape!) and follows the moves.

Want to know something else even more impressive? Cher can hold a plank for a whopping five minutes… yes, five whole minutes!

Um… we can’t even hold one for five seconds. 

Oh, but it doesn’t end there – the 72-year-old can hold a plank for two minutes “without breaking a sweat.”
