After less than two weeks in the jungle, boxer Anthony Mundine has quit ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
Just hours after completing the famed Viper Room challenge, he walked, forcing production to suspend voting for him on the show.
Dr Chris Brown revealed to Bianca, Terry and Bob: “I saw Anthony and Danny Green this afternoon at the trial. Anthony has returned from that trial and has had a word with a few people in the camp and from nowhere has left the jungle.
“He seemingly internalizes a lot. He hasn’t been feeling at home, he’s been feeling like he’s done all the trials, which he essentially has, apart from one that he was medically exempt from.
“I think potentially feels that like he’s has been having a bit of a rough time of it.”
Tensions have been high since Mundine’s boxing rival, Danny Green, entered the jungle earlier this week.
Before going into the jungle, Mundine told News Corp: “You are going to get the real Anthony Mundine. The Anthony Mundine you hear about and you’ve heard about as far as perception and the media or whatever, that ain’t me, you are going to see the real me.”
The Viper Room is where you lay in a room and snakes crawl all over you. Laurina famously took this on a previous season – but unlike a fighter in a boxing ring, it was too much for Mundine to face.
This is the first season of ‘I’m A Celeb’ where contestants have walked from the show, firstly it was Bernard Tomic, followed now by Mundine.
