Well Harry Potter fans you’ve got the weekend to collect your Galleons from Gringotts and practice your good luck spells (or you could just take some liquid luck if you’re feeling extra adventurous) because on Monday tickets for the long awaited Harry Potter play go on sale!
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is essentially the much needed eighth book in the series written by JK Rowling, only this time instead of having it come to life on our screens it takes place on stage in a West End Play.
The story of The Cursed Child follows the story of Harry 19 years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finished and follows our favourite wizard, who is now an employee at the Ministry of Magic, and his son Albus Severus Potter as they struggle to grapple with the past and future.
The play has delighted theatre-goers and Harry Potter fans since it’s debut in July 2016 at London’s Palace Theatre and has won 22 awards since. And well, due to it’s success it was announced last year that the magical cast would be packing up their wands and flying over to Australia on their broomsticks!
Of course the slightly sad thing is that the production is only playing in Melbourne’s Princess Theatre when it arrives Down Under in 2019, but hey what sort of Harry Potter fan wouldn’t be willing to buy a cheapo plane ticket down south to see a play dedicated to our favourite Wizarding World?
Or you know you could just use some floo powder for a quick and cheap trip. Either way, it’s something that we NEED to see and think most Potter fans would agree.
Tickets go on sale at 9am Monday August 6 2018 via harrypottertheplay.com and can be purchased from anywhere between $40 and $175.
Preview performances for Harry Potter and The Cursed Child will take place from January 16 2019 until February 22, while regular performances will be running at the Princess Theatre from February 25, 2019.
So what are you waiting for Potterheads? These tickets are likely to go fast so like we said, gather all of your gold and prepare for a trip down to Melbourne! This is one performance you don’t want to miss.
