In the most recent instalment of messy reality TV relationship break ups, we’re finally getting some more information about Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate’s split, two weeks on from the announcement.

Keira and Jarrod first met and fell in love during Australia’s first season of Bachelor In Paradise and everyone thought that they were going to be the one couple that would actually last. But back in late August Keira took to her Instagram to tell her fans that the couple had chosen to part ways.

The post has since been deleted but originally Keira gave no real reason for the split, only saying that she was sorry the news disappointed anyone but asked for people to respect their privacy during this time.

Jarrod kept quiet about the split at first before breaking his silence in a recent interview with WHO Magazine, saying that he ended his relationship with Keira because of her obsession with Instagram.

“Her Instagram following is overwhelming and it was taking over our relationship. She’s purely Instagram-focused and that takes up a lot of time,” said Jarrod. “For me, it wasn’t a genuine connection because everything we did went through Instagram and I’m a farm guy who hardly touches his phone.”

And well, if that didn’t already tell you that the split wasn’t amicable, Keira has since come out swinging at Jarrod’s claims, telling us this morning the REAL story behind the break up.

Speaking with Jackie and Beau Ryan, who was filling in for Kyle this morning, Keira said that she was disappointed by the split because she truly thought it was going to work out.

“I’m disappointed too don’t worry,” she said. “I actually thought that it was going to last but you can’t control everything in life.”

Seeing as Keira was so invested in the relationship, the break up came as quite a shock to her. Especially considering the way that Jarrod decided to do it four weeks ago, and two weeks before the split was made public.

“Basically we had a little bit of an argument and then he went back to the farm and then we kind of chatted and I was a little bit upset and then he was like…’Yeah I don’t think it’s working out’”, explained Keira.

“And I’m like, ‘Okay’…I wasn’t expecting that I thought we could’ve resolved it but unfortunately, I don’t know. I haven’t even seen him since it happened and that was like four weeks ago.”

As for the reason behind the break up Keira said that she thought Jarrod blaming her use of social media as the cause was a bit of a “cop out”. She told us that the cracks really started to show when they started watching themselves on Bachelor In Paradise when the show aired.

“There was so many things, I think it just like, we were really good up until the show. So we were together for six months before the show aired,” continued Keira.

“Watching the show back we really struggled. I think seeing each other in that light was really overwhelming for us and we just never really recovered from it. We probably should’ve spoken to someone.”

Keira admitted that it was hard to see Jarrod falling for other girls on the show, however, she also said that she felt like she put in more effort in their relationship and this also contributed to the split.

“Then there was other things that you know, I feel like I put one hundred percent into the relationship and it wasn’t reciprocated. That’s pretty much what happened.”

What did we tell you. Messy! As for whether Keira and Jarrod will ever get back together, Keira told us not to hold our breath.

“No,” she said defiantly in response to a possible reunion. “I think that when you kind of look back at a relationship and I’ve had about four weeks now to kind of look back and see what happened and…I just don’t think you should break up with someone like that.

“If you want something to work you put effort in…I wanted to do everything I possibly could to be with him and I don’t know you’ve got to meet someone half way.”
