Reese Witherspoon has starred in her fair share of romantic comedies and it seems that she’s about to add two more titles to the list!
It’s been announced that the Legally Blonde star has signed on for two upcoming rom-com’s from streaming service Netflix.
The two projects have both been confirmed by Netflix, saying that Reese will not only star in the movies but will help produce too.
Not just one… but two Reeses.
We’re excited to announce that @ReeseW will produce & star in *two* new Netflix rom-coms: YOUR PLACE OR MINE from screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) & producer Jason Bateman, and THE CACTUS, based on the bestseller.

And TBH they both sound soooooo good!
The first film is called ‘Your Place Or Mine’ which comes from an original script by Brosh McKenna and will be co-produced by Witherspoon and Jason Bateman.
According to deadline, the plot focuses on “two long distance best friends who change each other’s lives when she decides to pursue a lifelong dream and he volunteers to keep an eye on her teenage son”.
The second film is titled ‘The Cactus’ and has been adapted by a bestselling novel by Sarah Haywood.

I have some absolutely incredible news about The Cactus: Reese Witherspoon is to produce and star in the film adaptation for Netflix! I’m a massive fan of Reese Witherspoon’s work – whether it’s acting, producing, expanding opportunities for women to shine or putting their voices and stories centre-stage – so I’m beyond thrilled by her involvement in the adaptation of The Cactus! 🌵 #TheCactus #ReeseWitherspoon #hellosunshine #netflixmovies
It focuses on a 45-year-old woman who is dealing with a great loss and big changes in her life.
“Suddenly faced with the loss of her mother, and implausibly, with the possibility of becoming a mother herself, Susan’s greatest fear is being realised: she is losing control. And things can only get worse… at least in Susan’s eyes.”
Basically though anything that stars Reese Witherspoon is going to be good! So we’re super keen.
While we wait for these films we’re going to be re-watching some of Reese’s best rom-com classics! Sweet Home Alabama anyone?
