The world is still coming to terms with the shock death of Riverdale and 90210 actor Luke Perry earlier this week, following a severe stroke.
But while Luke may be gone, his Riverdale team is making sure that he will certainly never be forgotten.
Show runner and executive producer of the CW series, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa made an announcement in a post to Twitter about all future episodes of the show following the death of Perry, who played Fred Andrews since season one of the show.
Alongside a group photo of the Riverdale cast and crew with the late actor, Roberto told fans that all future episodes of the show, including the one due to premiere tonight, will be dedicated to Luke Perry.
He also told viewers what to expect from Perry’s character Fred Andrews in the new episode.
“Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. With Luke in the middle,” he wrote.
Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. With Luke in the middle. Our heart, always. Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best–helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run. 💔❤️🏆 pic.twitter.com/Nx8iCFBoMe

“Our heart, always. Tonight’s episode of [Riverdale] find Fred doing what he does best – helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.”
Those watching Riverdale in Australia will see a new episode premiere on Netflix tonight at 7pm.
This comes after Riverdale announced that they would be suspending production as the team grieved Perry, who passed away from a stroke on Monday March 4, aged 52.
“We are deeply saddened to learn today about the passing of Luke Perry,” Riverdale executive producers Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Jon Goldwater, Warner Bros. Television and The CW, said in a statement.
“A beloved member of the Riverdale, Warner Bros. and CW family, Luke was everything you would hope he would be: an incredibly caring, consummate professional with a giant heart, and a true friend to all.
“A father figure and mentor to the show’s young cast, Luke was incredibly generous, and he infused the set with love and kindness. Our thoughts are with Luke’s family during this most difficult time.”
Following news of his death, tributes quickly began to flow for Luke Perry, who was clearly loved dearly amongst the acting community.
So heartbroken about Luke. He was a father, brother, friend, and mentor. Each night before he had to shoot a scene, he’d call me and we’d talk about…everything. I will miss those calls. And my heart goes out to all his family and friends. 💔 pic.twitter.com/2GaFkV2mI7

I’m finding it hard to grasp that he will no longer be around to give long hugs and share his wisdom and kindness with all of us.
I’m thinking of his family. His children.
I pray for them to heal and find peace in this devastating loss.
