It’s only been a few days since he cancelled his performance at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, but it’s only now that Sam Smith is giving fans a health update.

After leaving Vegas after an ‘incident’ during dress rehearsals, Sam headed straight for Boston to see his voice doctor, and says he is “luckily ok,” while thanking fans for their support and kind words.

The UK singer wrote in an Instagram post, along with a picture of him at the doctor’s office:

“Hello beautiful people. Thank you for all your lovely messages. Just been to see my voice doctor in Boston after last night’s scare in Vegas, everything is luckily ok but I just need to rest it this week in preparation for the start of Asia tour next week. I’m sorry again everyone. All my love, Sam xx”

On the first night of the Festival, Sam tweeted a message to fans, informing them that he would not be performing. He wrote:

“Dear all, Due to unforeseen circumstances which transpired after rehearsal, it became clear that I’m sadly unable to perform at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Vegas tonight. I am so so sorry about this and I want to apologise to all my fans. All my love, always. Sam x.”

We love you, Sam!
