Taylor Swift well and truly kicked off our iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The Blank Space singer, who is today celebrating her 30th birthday, wowed the audience in a shimmering tank dress with thigh high boots.

“This is the first show of my 30th year of life,” she said to thousands of fans.

During her set she talked to the crowd about the process of recording her latest album Lover.

“I think that one of the things that I see as a major definition of love, in my opinion, is I think that love is equality,” she said.

During a backstage interview before the show, she told media about the joys of sharing her new Festive song, Christmas Tree Farm.

She talked about how important her parents are to her and the joy of watching the old home movies for the Christmas Tree Farm video clip, which is a montage of Taylor’s home movies.

“I am so lucky to have them [my parents]. My mum was the most emotional [watching the video clip] as she hadn’t seen that footage since it was filmed,”

After her set she was surprised by host Elvis Duran with a MASSIVE birthday cake.
