When it comes to Australia’s participation in Eurovision, there is no doubt that Dami Im wears the crown. Her song ‘Sound of Silence’ put her in second place when she represented our country in 2016. Seriously, she was robbed.
Many Eurovision fans have said in passing that they wish they could send Dami back to the worldwide competition after her fantastic result. We never thought it would happen, but it looks like their dreams could come true!
On Saturday’s broadcast of Australia Decides, which ultimately picks the 2020 contender, Dami was a special guest. She’s so respected, she performed TWICE!
At the end of her second performance, a duet with Eurovision icon Måns Zelmerlöw, she revealed something massive.
SHE’S ENTERING EUROVISION AGAIN!!
Dami expressed how much she missed the experience and said she’ll be ‘throwing her hat into the ring’ for 2021. Now that Australia has its own public vote, she’ll still need to go up against our incredible local talent. However, we have a feeling she’ll be very popular.

Dami’s big announcement was followed by the reveal of Australia’s Eurovision representative for 2020… Montaigne! She took out the top spot by just 7 points over Casey Donovan with her song ‘Don’t Break Me’. Her outfit is inspired by a Pokemon, so we are about to see something glorious.
Australia🇦🇺 | @SBSEurovision has decided that @actualmontaigne will perform at #ESC2020 in Rotterdam🌟
