The first ‘official’ footage from the final season of Game of Thrones was just released, as part of a tease video for HBO’s upcoming programs.

You may notice that the trailer features footage from previous seasons, however, one shot shows Jon Snow (Kit Harington) hugging his younger sister Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) at Winterfell. You can see the moment at the 1:11 mark in the video above. Some claim that this is an old scene of the two, however, The Wrap confirm that it is, indeed, a new scene.

However, there’s bad news…

Game of Thrones visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer told The Huffington Post, “We’re going to be toiling away on season eight until May of 2019, so it’s eight or nine months away [the final season’s premiere].”

We cannot confirm whether this information is true or false, but we don’t know whether we can wait another year! However, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) assures us that it’ll be worth the wait. “All the pieces will fit,” he explains.

Until then, you’ll find us catching up on all the previous seasons.
