Australia is currently facing tough social distancing restrictions as we attempt to combat the coronavirus pandemic.
And so the one question constantly on everyone’s mind is – When will these restrictions start to be eased?
At the moment, people can only have a wedding with five guests including the bride and groom, their celebrant and the witnesses.
This means that anyone who had their wedding booked in for this month or in the near future has had to put their big plans on hold, which can not only be an expensive ordeal but an emotional one too.
Unfortunately there are currently “no plans” for the five person limit to be lifted.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said, “for the foreseeable future unfortunately the restrictions have to stay in place when it comes to what we call gatherings because unfortunately we’re seen occasions where one couple who got married had up to 30 people get the disease at their wedding.”
“None of us want to see that happen and unfortunately a lot of the breakouts that we’ve had in Australia have been at either religious gatherings or weddings and the like and we don’t want to see that happen.”
“So unfortunately for all the blushing brides out there I”m sorry you’re going to have to wait a bit longer,” she added. “I appreciate what a stressful time it is and just know that we’re thinking of you.”
